This GRIN-Global tutorial focuses on the Search Tool. Genebank staff use the Curator Tool for creating and editing existing data, but the Search Tool is used to find existing data in the database.

After you find the data with the Search Tool, besides reviewing the data, you will frequently drag the found records over to the Curator Tool for editing, either immediately or later. Alternatively, you can drag the search directions ("the query") to the Curator Tool (CT), so that later the CT will be able to dynamically look for the records matching the search criteria.
